Aptitude tests are a bit like intelligence tests, but they assess a wider spectrum of skills such as general critical reasoning, verbal and written comprehension, perceptual speed, or numerical operations. In the United States, we can find several examples of general quizzes that are created to measure a candidate’s general academic ability and to predict future academic success. There is the SAT (Scholastic Assessment Test) and the ACT test (American College Testing Exam). These are commonly used general group tests that produce a profile of scores, whereas IQ tests yield a single score. The SAT and ACT quizzes are frequently used for vocational and educational reporting and counseling.
There are many types of quizzes and some were created to provide employers, schools, or candidates with a reasonable level of expectations regarding professional potential or academic achievement.
